My friend Justin and I drove down to Big Timber and fished the Boulder River. It had to be the best day of fishing I have had so far. Here is the latest shot of the yard and finished fence. The grass looks a little better then it used to. There are still a few spots that I wish they would have replaced. The brown did a good job at making the copper tops that I made really pop out.Now next summer when I have money again I will do some creative landscaping. :)

So I finally convinced the builder that they need to take care of the drainage mess in my backyard. I drew up the plans for a french drain system(sand on top of a landscape material wrapped gravel and perforated pipe system). This was the weekend before last when I started to dig the ditch myself. Here is the fence with the finished posts. Now all I have to do is paint the thing and it is done. I made these caps with some premade trim a premade flat 6x6 fence cap and a 4x4 copper post topper. They sell something just like this for $8-$15 and mine came out to about $5 each.

Well here is the fence. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the sod job. As you can see most of it is dead all ready. I have been trying to tell the builder that the sprinklers do not work. I braved the hot attic and installed some new lighting in the kitchen. The wiring was all ready in place to do this so all I had to do was put in a switch and the light junction boxes and hang the lights. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully the next buyer will feel the same.

Saturday night and Sunday brought us snow in the mountains and tons more rain. Looks like we can add June to the list of months that we get snow in the area. This was exciting for me because I am an Obama supporter. Unfortunately I forgot my camera in the car so all I had was my phone. These pictures are not as good as they could have been. There was even a surprise visit by Micheal Keaton (Batman, Beattlejuice). Pretty neat experience. April gave us snow at least 1 or 2 times a week and so far May is giving us one snow day a week. The going bet at work these days is which months in 2008 will not have snow falling. The temperature yesterday was almost 75 with lots of sun. It felt like a real spring day. Almost summer like. But that all changed quickly. We woke up this morning with new snow.
